Call for Board of Directors - SLDLP

Sturgeon Lake Developments LP is the business arm of Sturgeon Lake First Nation. The board seeks to engage in business opportunities that will further advance its shareholders and the nation in whole. We are looking to add board members that possess business knowledge and experience. SLDLP has an investment in an agricultural machinery company, owns a fuel station and manages several properties in PA.

The positions of the board that will be filled are: 

5 – Registered Band Members from SLFN

2 – Professionals

2 – Non-Band Members.

The candidate must be:

• 18 years of age or over.

• a person of full legal age, who is mentally competent to make board decisions.

• Have not been declared incompetent [i.e., I have not been found to be of unsound mind by a Court in Canada or elsewhere].

• Have not declared bankruptcy pursuant to the provisions of the Bankruptcy Act.

• Have a current CPIC of the last five (5) Years.

• eligible to sit as a director of a corporate entity, with no court ordered grievances that restrict you from sitting as a director.

• Have not been convicted of an indictable offence under the Criminal Code of Canada for a period of at least five (5) years or a hybrid or dual offence with respect to which the Crown has elected to proceed by way of indictment for a period of at least five (5) years; nor an offence under the Narcotic Control Act or the Food and Drug Act involving trafficking of a prohibited or controlled substance and.

• Can speak fluent English.

• Have an interest in business or entrepreneurship

• Possess familiarity or knowledge of Sturgeon Lake First Nation and/ or First Nation community dynamics
